Burton Nug and Burton Nugget Snowboard
The talk of mountain towns everywhere, the Burton Nug and Burton Nugget have come to show us that short is sweeter when it comes to snowboarding in 2013. Before you high-tail it down to the evo store in Fremont to get this beauty, let us take a second to give you the low-down on why the Nug must be part of your board quiver!
Straight out of the Burton factory of magic and wonder, the Nug may sound like a joke, but after testing it out last season we seriously can’t stop raving about it. Going against all you’ve ever known in snowboarding the Nug breaks standards with its condensed size that will surely shock, then wow once it hits the snowpack. The Nug’s size is enhanced by the tweaking the board length, tip and tail geometry and flexes to achieve a board that performs in tight terrain, is surprisingly floaty, and is stable at high speeds.
Now for all you skeptics, no the Nug isn’t just a shortened version of a standard board, it actually has engineered technology specifically designed to make the Nug perform. Nug Raduction technology ensures every element from the waist width, flex profile, sidecut, and running length are proportioned correctly.
More tech on the Nug:
– Energy through Jumper Cables carbon stringers – greater pop and snap!
– Side Effects lengthen the tip and tail contact points for improved edge hold.
–Squeezebox ramped up core sections create a multitude of flex zones that make the board more stable, energized and powerful.
–V-Rocker is continuous rocker making the board loose, forgiving and catch-free.
The maneuverability and playfulness of the Burton Nug will hook riders of all styles and ability from powder purists to park rats. Just remember to downsize 8 to 10cm from your normal board length and you’ll be set.
Good things do come in small packages!
